Class List

Living Your Best Life

This guided meditation begins by relaxing the body and calming the mind. Then we engage visualization techniques along with generating elevated emotions such as joy and gratitude to feel and sense what it is like to have curiosity and excitement in life. From there, we shift to our current self as we consider what we want more of in our life. Using visualization techniques, we see ourselves living out our life with this new and enhanced quality in ourselves.

Harmonic Sounds
This meditation is filled with harmonic sounds that will take you on a journey of self-guided meditation. Fill the time with whatever you need – maybe it is peace and calm, maybe it’s self reflection or maybe it’s to tap into your intuition and find clarity. Enjoy the time and space to give yourself what you need. This is not guided, however if you’d like ideas of what to focus on in class, please ask the instructor.
Restore

This meditation guides us to finding our inner peace and remembering how it feels. We are then guided to step out of this peace briefly and then returning to the present moment, we bring ourselves back to our inner peace. The practice of returning to peace is an important skill that will help us to manage stress in our daily lives.

Transmuting Negative Emotions

This meditation begins with entering a loving state as we imagine basking in the warmth and light of the sun. From here, we intentionally bring to mind a topic that is concerning to us. We notice where tension from this concern is settled in our bodies and we move our attention there to gently release it from our body. We then release the concern from our minds, knowing we are doing our best and that we can’t control all the outcomes. The class uses self-compassion and the elevated emotions of  joy and gratitude to overcome negative emotions.

Glow and Expand
This meditation is more general in nature, giving access to a wide range of individuality.  We begin by becoming aware of our bodies with non-judgmental acceptance. We sense our inner bodies and notice any sensations we feel. Then we imagine ourselves expanding into the endless space around us, feeling the peaceful presence surrounding us. From here, the harmonic sounds will take us each on an individual journey. The participants typically leave this class feeling more peace within themselves and feeling more energized than beginning the class. This class is rated intermediate based on some abstract concepts within the meditation that some people have difficulty imagining.
One Big Breath
This meditation will allow you to gain access to your inner peace and teaches a technique to return to it when out and about in your busy life. The class begins with noticing our body, lighting it up with our imagination and noticing the space around us. We then create a space where we feel love, peace and contentment, using our senses and imagination. After noticing and remembering how we feel in this space, we use one big breath to get back to our special space when we feel we have left it. People say they leave this class feeling peaceful and empowered, knowing they can attain their inner peace outside the studio.

What to Expect

Sometimes our brains aren’t able to relax because we are constantly wondering what is happening next. To prevent this, we are sharing an outline of what you can expect from the moment you arrive to the end of the class.

When you arrive, we’ll ask you to take off your shoes and silence your cell phones. We’ll have secured cubbies where you can place all your belongings. There are restrooms to visit if needed, before entering the studio and hammocks.

In the studio, we’ll teach you how to get into the hammock. Once you see this demonstrated and learn a couple tips, you’ll see how easy it is.

The class will start when everyone is inside their hammock and comfortable. The meditation guide will begin the class with easy breathing exercises, acupressure activities, and the guide will share meditation strategies while easy background music is playing. These activities allow a person to slowly relax and come into the present moment.

When the bowls begin to play, the guide will walk you through a body scan and then smoothly transition into the meditation. During the meditation, you’ll be prompted to use your imagination and feel positive emotions. You’ll notice there are times there is only music playing and times with the guide talking you through next steps. If at any point you don’t want to follow the guide’s prompts, or if you want to change it in a way that suits you best, feel free to do this.

Near the end of the class, the guide will prompt you to bring your awareness back to the room, and your body. You’ll have some time to slowly awaken as the music ends and some lights are turned on. When you are ready, step out of the hammock and gather your belongings. Most people feel fresh and renewed after the class, we hope this for you too!
